Anne McDonald site specific installation will be on display in Bratislava’s 16th Festival Month of Photography, which opens on Halloween.
The works are about the Body in Transformation, either through growth or decay--and it includes 12 giant photos 50 ins. wide and 8 feet tall, most of which include unique processes -- The images were installed next to each other in a dim room around all 4 of the exterior walls, then in the center of the room will be a sculpture of a figure lit from the inside and hanging from the ceiling, it is going through some kind of a metamorphosis, it looks like a chrysalis, unraveling from decomposing fabric and hair and twine and chair stuffing material.
In addition, Ms. McDonald currently has a show about flying and floating in the Atlanta Airport from Nov. 10-Jan. 3rd. It is in the Atrium Gallery of the Hartsfield International Airport, between the North and South terminals -- showing are 15 self portraits and 15 Dianas.
