Kris Atkinson Wins Global Beatles Art Contest

Kris Atkinson, Sculptor/Artist from New Kensington-Pittsburgh, PA USA was selected as the First Place Winner of The Boxigami Books Beatles Art Contest with his "Spirit of The Beatles" tribute sculpture as officially announced by Boxigami Books. Their Latest Book Release: “Beatles Art: Fantastic New Artwork of The Fab Four” is available through Boxigami Books and other internet and chain store outlets.
Says Mr. Atkinson, "I am humbly elated to have been awarded this achievement, yet there is more and then some. When I first learned about the contest and global search for New Beatles Art, my art piece was a work in progress. It was the urging of family and friends that prompted me to forego my reservations to enter the competition and I am glad I did.
The photos of my Beatles sculpture displayed in this book are as the art piece appeared when the photos were submitted for the contest and book’s production. I have since that time continued refining the work with my concentrated focus on The Beatles’ spirit and comradery. As every Beatles fan knows, a very unique and magical chemistry existed amongst and between The Beatles.
In addition to likeness, it is this living emotion and aura that I’ve been striving to capture in this art piece and thus the Title: "Spirit of The Beatles". Winning First Place in this global art competition has given me new perspective, added motivation, a fresh approach to better critique my own work and most importantly, new found inspiration. This just once again goes to show that The Beatles really do continue to inspire.” The Artist adds, “There are yet more exciting secrets to come and to be revealed about this art piece."
