The objective of the 'TreasurePostcards' Project, including the arts contest and an educational exhibit, is to emphasize the role of arts in the economic development field and highlight the significance of preserving and protecting humankind's major cultural heritage sites and artistic creations.
The postcard-sized artworks cover issues such as:
cultural identity and heritage,
challenges of craftsmanship / artisanship;
poverty,
local and global collaboration to end poverty;
applied arts, ancient /classical arts, contemporary arts
education/skill development and economic progress
economics and its relation to human capacity building,
local, national, ethnic cultural, archeological and artistic treasures,
creative tourism and the development of job opportunities.
The artwork material is images of indigenous cultural treasures, symbols of cultural legacy, folk arts, paintings, collages of various materials (local coins, old unused monies, stamps, beads, related local newspaper clippings, etc); illustrations combined with poetry, anecdotes, caricatures, photographs and/or painted with water colors, pastels, acrylics, pen, etc.

is a growing international non-profit voluntary initiative with a purpose of furthering interdisciplinary, multisectoral, cross-cultural and creative approach in social change, and facilitating creative sector and stakeholders of development together empower socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and communities worldwide, particularly children, youth, and women.
The Craft Center at CHF International
contributes to economic development through field programs and coordination of an international network dedicated to supporting low-income artisans. Through targeted training and business development services, the provision of market linkages, and the development of business associations, our programs empower entrepreneurs to compete in the global marketplace and improve the quality of their own lives.
Postcard artworks will be exhibited at an educational event co-organized by Arts For Global Development, Inc and the Craft Center at CHF International in Washington DC; and will be available for sale.
